The Sealed
League
Week 1 (July 3rd-10th)
During the first week of the Sealed League, the majority
of players signed up: Aaron, Aidan, Chris, Dane, Dustin, Hope, James,
Jennifer, Jim, Jordan, Kona, Lars, Olin, Peter, Scott, and Trevor. (16
players!)
The first players to buy packs choose 4th edition starters
and 8th edition boosters (for the extra land). With the realization that
the 4th ed. starters had significantly fewer cards than the other starters
(Onslaught, Odyssey), Jordan decided that everyone would have to start
with 4th. (Much to Dane's dismay.) Other booster choices included
Jordan's Legions (morphs are easy to cast in three color sealed
decks), Kona and Scotts' Torment
(Torment is color-biased), and Dane's Invasion (strong cards, at the
cost of being more color intensive).
No trading was allowed during the first week, but as
for trading promises...
Week 1 Standings:
Gross Match Points: 1st Jordan, 2nd Trevor and James
Win-Loss Percentage: 1st Jordan, 2nd Aaron, 3rd Trevor
Bid points: Jordan(33), Trevor(27), Aaron(26), James(25),
All others(22)
Week 2 (July 11th-17th)
Two new players joined- Kelsey and Stephen/Ikaika. (Ikaika
will be taking over for Stephen after he returns to Arizon in August.)
Colors and Packs: 12 players paid their $3 pack fee,
and 6 boosters were opened- 2 Judgement, 1 Torment, 1 Odyssey, ...er,
and I'll have to look up the other 2. Hightlights included a Reya
Dawnbringer,
an Angel of Vengeance, and Genesis.
Bidders also chose a color affiliation: Black(Aaron,
James), Blue(Jordan, Lars?), Green (Dane, and three others), Red (Trevor,
only!), and White(2)
Rules changes:
With so many players in the league now (18!), a 4th place prize for both
categories has been added.
A bid point savings cap has been added (70 points max),
to keep bidding active and avoid a rules exploit.
Scoring rules for multiplayer matches are
in place now.
