Summer Classes...
...are being pondered upon by Jordan. Expect some Dungeons & Dragons
and Chess before the summer is through!

with a U.S. Chess Federation rating of 1910. He has defeated Masters and
Experts in tournament play on 'Oahu and the mainland, and played against
Grandmaster Boris Gulko at the 1998 U.S. Chess Open in Kailua-Kona.
Jordan started playing D&D in 1979. He has spent
hundreds of hours moderating games for his friends, cooperatively creating
fantasy worlds for their characters to adventure in. His further creative
talents include original sketch comedy, a swords & sorcery-themed
screenplay, and he has acted in local theatrical productions, with leading
roles in The King & I (as The King), and Man of La Mancha (as Sancho

for both white and black pieces, to have a ready answer for the
strongest of their opponent's opening moves. They will also study
positions resulting from these openings, pawn structure, common

| Dungeons & Dragons
Enter the imaginary world of Dungeons & Dragons!
In this six-week session, players create original fictional characters,
and roleplay them in a dramatic interactive story. Creative thinking
is a must, as players try to outwit cryptic Wizards, and defeat
hungry Dragons. Class size is small, with a maximum enrollment
of eight students. Moderator Jordan Stewart introduces players
to the rules of a game that encourages teamwork, problem solving,
and reading skill.
Players will need a pen and a notebook. Rulebooks
and dice will be provided. (Players are welcome to bring their
own, too!)
